Picture this - you're rain falling from the sky. You have no idea where you'll end up. You make landfall, you still have no where you'll end up.
The moment you cross into the watershed? Your watershed moment? Now your destination is clear. You're headed for that river or whatever. And not whatever was on the outside of the watershed.
